Q: Are the 5150 bats made with Liquid Metal like the Plasma bats were?
A: No
Q: Why did you stop using Liquid Metal?
A: We were able to build on the performance and dramatically increase durability by switching base alloys and reformulating our wall thickness and weight distribution recipe.
Q: Which bat is best for me?
A: All three designs perform to the maximum allowed BESR limit. The bat that is best for any given player will be determined by how the different bat properties interact with each players swing style.
Q: What is the Rawlings SciFly system?
A: The SciFly system utilizes a radar tracking device and data analysis tools to recommend a bat based on a player's actual performance. The radar tracking device measures batted ball flight data which includes hit speed, initial launch angle, spin rate, hit distance, and many other attributes which are all a sign of a bat's effectiveness. After the ball flight data is analyzed a bat is recommended based on a player's average and maximum performance levels with each bat.
Q: What is the Speedcap?
A: The Speedcap is a patent pending swing speed gauge that attaches to the end of the Rawlings 5150 bats. After swinging each 5150 bat with the Speedcap installed, a player will be able to make a more informed selection regarding which bat they will perform the best with.
Q: Can I take batting practice with the Speedcap installed?
A: No, the Speedcap is not designed to withstand bat/ball impacts.
